…African Fashion Talents Come Together in One Glamourous Week!
BACKGROUND Ibom fashion collective is a fashion week, designed to be the biggest fashion exhibition hosted in Akwa Ibom State. It shall be held as an annual event where Akwa Ibom State and Africa’s finest fashion designers, emerging starlets, and models shall be collected into a brilliant fashion spectacle and commerce. Guest designers, models, fashion editors, backers and buyers of national and international acclaim shall also be to feature in this event.
The maiden edition of IFC, which shall be held this year [2011], shall feature 5 shows in 3 cities of Akwa Ibom. The 5 shows will feature 25 fashion designers, 30 models and more than 300 looks. 3 prominent Nigerian musicians shall be employed to headline the fashion week as guest artiste.
All departments of the events shall be open to sponsorship and support from the Akwa Ibom State government and other well meaning organizations.
The schedule for the fashion week shall be as follows:
May 15 - Oil and Glamour [Eket]
May 17 - Raffia Couture [Ikot Ekpene]
May 19 - elope: Bridal Loop [Uyo]
May 20 - Uyo City Awards Fashion Lounge [Uyo]
May 22 - Ibom SuperModel [Uyo]
